PIM is committed to keeping the printing industry in front of Minnesota legislators with the appointment of Tom Lehman, The Lehman Group, and Jennifer Breitinger, JWB Associates, to serve as PIM lobbyists. Lehman’s political experience dates back to the 1980’s when he served as an appointee of Governor Rudy Perpich. Since 1991, he has lobbied the Minnesota Legislature on behalf of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and the Minnesota Hospital Association. His expertise has earned him recognition as “Top Lobbyist” from both Minnesota Law and Politics magazine and from a survey of legislators conducted by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
After graduating from George Washington Law School, Jennifer Breitinger was a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. She moved to Minnesota in 1991 and practiced law for three years with Winthrop and Weinstine in St. Paul before starting her own practice in 1994. Her clients include the Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association (MCHA); State Farm; Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors; Bristol Myers Squibb; Insurance Federation; the National Paint and Coatings Association; America’s Health Insurance Plans and the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association.
Working together, Lehman and Breitinger will ensure that the frantic pace of legislative sessions are covered on behalf of PIM. PIM members will be kept informed via Legislative Reports distributed on a regular basis during the legislative sessions.
Plus, PIM Safety and Environmental Services routinely evaluates proposed environmental, health and safety legislation and rules and provides input to make them fair to the printing industry. Part of this process involves monitoring the Federal and the State. Registers to identify new regulations that will impact the graphic arts industry, and submit comments on proposed rules or legislation.
In some circumstances, PIM provides testimony at agency or legislative hearings.
PIM members are kept informed on Environmental, Health and Safety issues through updates on this site, articles in the monthly newsletter, Graphic News, and in the e-newsletter, Graphic News Monthly, as well as directly when PIM EHS staff are onsite for an audit, compliance review, training or consultation. |
