Thursday ~ September 23, 2010 ~ 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
We will discuss the origins of G7 and why it has established itself as the preeminent way for quality minded printers and print buyers to align their presses and proofers which maintain a consistent visual appearance to Photoshop defaults. We will discuss how G7 and Gracol1 relate to ISO Standards for Visual Appearance for Print on different substrates. We will also cover what the differences are between Master G7 Printers and the new Certification program being developed by RIT called PSA (Print Standards Audit) which is similar to Europe's PSO efforts to attain ISO Certification. We will provide easy ways to evaluate if you’re Print or Proof adheres to G7 specifications, many of the tips are visual, but we will also cover how to use an instrument and software to determine conformance. We will cover many references that are available to learn more about G7 and become a G7 Expert.
