As the CFO of GLS Companies I was encouraged by Gary Garner, our CEO and PIM board member, to talk with Lee F. Murphy, Inc. about our P&C renewal. I was skeptical of the opportunity as we had a strong working relationship with our current broker and I didn’t believe there was much potential for decreasing our premiums or improving service. However, we did follow through and set up an initial meeting to discuss what was available through the PIM Insurance Program. Still skeptical, I told them to go ahead and quote the Workers' Compensation part of our program. I was pleasantly surprised when we received a quote that was 17% below the quote from our current broker. And with our Workers' Compensation premium being 60% of the total cost of our P&C insurance, this was going to be a significant reduction in premium for GLS. Since then Lee F. Murphy, Inc. has done an outstanding job servicing our account. I believe there is considerable opportunity for PIM members to reduce their insurance cost through the Lee F.
