PrintEd
is a national program administered by the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF) offering certification for secondary and post-secondary graphic communications programs and students. Instructors receive industry-approved program and curriculum guidance.
PrintEd consists of nine standards that cover the elements of a solid training program. Instruction is based on over 500 industry-identified tasks critical to graphic communication technology.
Given our industry's rapid technological change and our constant investment in new equipment, it is critical for high school and community college instructors to regularly update teaching skills. Working in cooperation with the Graphic Arts Technology Center of Iowa, a comprehensive workshop has been developed to assist area instructors, networking with industry and identification of information resources are all encompassed in this 3-day program.
Few individuals outside our industry are aware that Graphic Communications is the third largest industry in the US. Our industry offers a wide variety of high paying, skilled career opportunities. Career awareness is an ongoing multi-media communication effort directed at high school and post-secondary students as well as employed individuals.
